Title Edited. See Rule 9, please.

My piping tends to fall off in the summer as it gets very hot where I live (over 100 degrees is the norm) so after a usually brief spring my pipes won't see much use until autumn, however there are exceptions----camping trips at higher elevations and trips to the coast with it's cool, predictable fog----I find provide excellent conditions for puffing.
Also my taste in pipes and tobacco also metamorphizes to suite the change, from my usual bents to straights, and from Orientals and Latakias to more aromatics (I generally detest aros and have a difficult time finding an aro blend I'll tolerate) and Burleys.

i was wondering if anyone else here goes through seasonal piping changes?

For me temp doesn't matter but I have noticed that on extremely muggy days as in hot and humid certain blends taste off. I find on those days a straight VA or aro seem to be least effected by the atmosphere. Generally though the only thing that stops me from smoking is if the weather is just too torturous for me to enjoy well a pipe or much else. Like the windy negative nine days no pipe. If I feel more like a ball of sweat then a man I might skip the pipe.

Mind you @hoosierpipeguy has an extraordinarily varied inventory of blends to draw from LOL!
This is true. However, I smoke Virginia Flake the first through third bowl each day 99% of the time. Often, the fourth bowl. After that is when I'll mix in a VaPer, VaOr or VaBur. While I was organizing the cellar, dropped a painter tin of HU Manyara and it popped open. My only casualty out of that while deal, remarkable. So I'm now smoking the occasional bowl with some latakia in it.

My personality has me behave like a steady, old, work horse….. I do most things in life very consistently. So, pipe habits for me stay the same, rain or shine, snow or heat. My consistency in nearly everything sometimes aggravates the hell out of my wife…. And I apparently do that consistently as well. ?

I smoke my pipes everyday. The only seasonal changes are that I smoke quite a few cigars during the summer/warmer months as I don't like to smoke cigars in the house. Last fall I did enjoy Warped Scarecrow as a nice change up. Often during the Christmas holiday I'll pop a tin of Christmas Cheer or Cringle Flake or some other holiday themed blend as a treat to myself. Other than that, I pretty much stick to my same routines.

I used to live in Arizona, and If I only smoked when it was cool, I would hardly have been able to smoke at all. ? But I have noticed that certain blends behave differently when it's humid and when it's dry ~ Arizona being the land of dry heat, everything seemed crisper. But I also found that some aromatic blends became almost too dry. Now that I live in a more wet climate, I've noticed some aromatics are too cloying. I used to love a certain value brand peach in AZ. Here in PA I can't stand it.

I only smoke outdoor. But finding I actually enjoy hot weather better than cold weather. Just found that out this year. Not sure how I'll find summer this year. Previous to this winter, I smoked whatever I felt like regardless of season.

Same here. I smoke considerably less in the summer when it's hot here in central Texas. However, my gin and tonic consumption goes way up in the hot months. :)

I think being outside more in the warm summer months makes me smoke more in general. I will smoke 2 or 3 bowls per day during the summer months and usually smoke more latakia during those months. During the winter I can smoke indoors in my office or parlor at times, but my wife definitely prefers it to not be latakia indoors.
