peck makes a good point that many Virginia blends improve immensely with aging, so it's smart to avail yourself of the recommendations, but plan to cellar them for as long as you can stand it, to get the optimal experience. Stokkebye, C&D, Peterson, and many others have respectable offerings, as do many other brands. Give 'em a chance and some time, and you may fall in love again.

I love Capstan and MF, and I liked the one tin of UNion Square I’ve smoked. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them.
Of the Rattrays, Marlin Flake is my favorite, but Hal o’ the Wynd is gaining rapidly. It’s what I reach for when I want some palpable perique.
