After an extremely stressful day, I decided to build a fire outside in the fire pit. Had a little bit of plum wood left over from the ham I smoked at Christmas, so I threw it in with the oak. When the coffee was ready & the cob was loaded with pa, the fire was perfect. About half way thru the bowl, with my yellow lab beside me, the aroma from the burning plum, burning pa combined with a cool breeze...I realized this was the reason I started smoking pipe to begin with. I know I've only smoked a couple months but that was the most enjoyable smoke I've experienced. I look forward to alot more of those..

its 7:00 am on a weekday morning, the kids have moved out yrs ago, the wife is gone to work. I make a cup of coffee, turn on the computer, while its booting up i load my brigham mountaineer with Larry's Blend, click to my favorite poker site, lean back in the chair and fire up. No noise in the house, no one else around, just my coffee, pipe and a game of poker. (Can u see it?)

I love sitting in my garden on a cool day with the excitement of trying out a brand new blend in my Meer, contemplating a good adult beverage to go along with the taste of a new smoke!

Ah, yep that's the way to do it.
I smoked a pipe for the first time about what, 10-11 years ago ... and I think I was too young to appreciate it fully, which I regret now. There is a pipe smoker's mentality, to be sure, and I like to think I've finally caught the drift.
