I thought rabbit liver was rife with hepatitis, or was that someone trying to preserve the local supply for himself?

Michael, I didn't mean to say we shouldn't discuss our lives and issues

Ken are you talking to me? Even though my name is Michael, I always think of Cosmic when someone on the forum says Michael. For the purposes of this discussion, I'll answer to Mayfair, Mr. Henry, Eugene, Daffodil, Ray, Jay, Junior but you doesn't have to call me Johnson.
Nevadablue, I completely agree with your OP, with the slight amendment in my post. We're on the same page.
My mother's liver could be used for patching roofs.

I sincerely hope she wasn't using it at the time. (badum-ching)

I have a hard time being negative about anything. I think of it as a waste of time.
My wife still isn't used to the fact that I rarely get upset over things. She hates it, in fact.
If it's done and over with, what's the point of bringing it up and complaining about it, if it's too late and there's nothing you can do about it now?
You can spend that time productively, rather than complaining.

Sorry, I wasn't preaching. You will know when that happens. And it won't happen here. I do have a certificate for preaching though.
Michael Johnson Junior, I like the ring of that. Yes, we agree, that's a good thing.
I started this as a suggestion, in a positive manner, just to remind folks that this is a pipe forum, not a bitching post. 8)
And, I am happy to be alive. I just started making a Christmas present for my lady. I put a log in my wood lathe, between centers and survived getting it round and balanced. Goodness abounds.
Oh, I forgot to add, since the subject is liver... It is best served pink in the middle. Like other things, it is more savory that way. 8O
And, chicken livers? OMG, why did you say that. Now I must find a package of those. We raised a batch of what we call 'fat boys' last year. Chickens that grow so fast you have to limit their feed and butcher them soon. Otherwise they will literally break their legs waddling around. The livers from those are HUGE. Some in the freezer I think...

My apologies @Sablebrush. That was in poor taste and I thought it was way funnier than it was. In fact, I'm sure I didn't think at all. Sorry.
This is the place to ask such questions...in (one) instance, Russ O explained what was going on and gave some insider information.

I remember that thread. In general, I think it is better to ask a question than not. We have moderators and vocal members who will let us know if something is not appropriate. (vocal members... )

we get folks from the old folks farm, posting from their rocker on the porch

I swear I was within an inch of yelling at some kids to get off my lawn since they were biking over it instead of going all the way to the corner to turn on the sidewalk. In my defense, I don't have my rocker on the porch.

I love gently cooked liver so that it is soft and sweet. You can keep the unless they are cameralized. Try chicken liver as a sauce for pasta. It is more fun to be positive. Being negative you are just banging your head against the wall.

Actually, I thought it was hilarious, and my mother would have thought so as well. No problems. I should have worded that sentence better. My GF and I find a lot of amusement in ambiguous sentences.

Whew! I was thinking my Mother would have laughed at that, which prompted me to say it. Glad we have similar senses of humor. :worship:

If all you have to say is something negative, go away. Keep your negativism to yourself or share it on your favorite 'social' media site. Let's keep this place positive and fun.
Not a good idea. You are introducing a standard that will force people into self-censorship mode and filter out a lot of relevant information.
Forums struggle with happy vapid quite a bit as it is, and there is a cadre here who would gleefully reduce all traffic to the insipid and then wonder why entropy won at a later date, so even this well-intentioned idea will backfire on your -- and get nasty, really fast, when people start judging what is "positive" or not.
Not only will it instantly be politicized into something like political correctness, but it will also be used as a means of compelling people to like everything, at which point discernment and then quality fall rapidly.

If there is an actual solution, negative comments about it will follow the arc: very popular, considered common knowledge, and finally, ignored once the solution is accepted.

Calve's liver, lightly floured and sautéed about one minute per side, 1/2" inch thick: fabulous. Onions and bacon make it extravagant. That's pretty upbeat in my book.

What I take away from this thread, is that I am positive that I want liver and onions for dinner tomorrow.

I literally had a shitty day yesterday, at one point I got very angry and started complaining about everything, including my luck. Then I got home, around 11 pm I filled my MM Gentleman cob with the last remaining Watch City Cigar Justice Mixture and and started sipping. At that point I was very positive.

See? The difference between negative and positive is a pipe and tobacco and smoking. Simple, and positive.
