Thanks for the clarification on The Pipe versus Brylon pipes. It's a fine point, but they are different. Thanks too for the reports on long usage of The Pipe, which illustrates that some people have gotten good and faithful service out of these. Since I have many pipes in briar and other woods, and cobs, I think I will pass on these, since I feel they would only occupy space. Always an interesting discussion on these. My nominee for best use of modern materials is the Falcon and other aluminum shank pipes, which managed to combine the best of briar and Meerschaum and yet utilize light weight metal as well.
