Do you have a pipe that almost got away, and turned into your favorite smoker?

Wondering if you were ever close to returning that pipe from eBay or from your favorite online store, only to hold on last minute.

I have one and boy I’m shocked I almost let her go. I wasn’t impressed, considering the price I paid. She didn’t feel perfect in my hand and a found that imperfection that “bugged me”

She’s now dedicated to my top 5 backy, Solani 633 and a favorite smoker.

A slightly different story, but I saw a tall bowled poker by La Rocca at my local independent pipe shop, and noticed the looping carved finish, and thought it was a little too folksy for me. But that tall bowl and easy price kept chewing at me, until about three weeks later, I decided to go back, and if it was there, I'd buy it. It was, i did, and I've enjoyed it ever since. It's good for those dry blends like Semois that can burn too fast. The deeper bowl slows them down, but it will favor many blends.
