As I am getting ready to load up one of my Meers, "IT" happens! Out of my hand it goes to the floor. Well, being it lands on one of the dogs blankets I think I'm good till I go to pick it up. Alas, amber stem in half. That my friends is one of the perils of smoking very old meer pipes. It's not like the thing hasn't been put together again and again over the 100 years it's been around. Well, off to the magic of Briarville to do their thing again for me (if ANYONE can heal it, it's them!)..

Oh, damn. Sorry for your loss, albeit temporary.

Two days ago, I dropped the stem- just the stem- of a 50 year old meer, and the button snapped off. Drop was three feet, but onto a stone floor. Snapped it off cleanly, and I can't find it under the washing machine. Rick will be hearing from me, too.

That does suck. But, it is a thought that crosses my mind from time to time as I shuffle across my icy driveway, meer in hand/clench. I won't be completely shocked if it happens to me at some point. Obviously, yours being an antique makes the situation more of a bummer but I'm betting you get it back with great results.

Crap Weezell, at our age, we should just wrap all of our pipes in bubblewrap and duct tape. It happens. I mean, I never drop anything. I've never dropped a cell phone, never dropped a glass, or jar, or anything. I buy a new Northern Briars, step outside... the damned thing falls maybe three feet and shatters like the fragile feelings of Game of Thrones fans in the final episode.
