Apart from the classic cob, I'm not sure there is a pipe with a more polarizing effect than the now almost 50 year old Color Duke line from Dr. Grabow.

Have one? Love them? Hate them? Collect them? Have an interesting back story about them? Here is the place to discuss them.

These are my two beauties, gifted to me from a forum member years ago after *years* of me looking for a nice green one. They generally only make an appearance around Christmas.

I had a blue one in the 70's. Man, hated that pipe. It smoked hotter that hell and left mouth feeling the pain for a day or too afterwards. Much later I learned how to deal with these issues, but I had long since discarded this pipe to barrel of broken dreams.

I love my Grabows, in fact I reach for them first.

No color Grabows. Everyone I've ever come across was hammered.

I've got a modest collection of about 60 pipes, with no expensive pipes. So maybe If I bought a Dunhill I would understand.

Soap and water cleaning takes the color right out of the stem, apparently. Presumably some stem polish will fix this right up
