Yes the eyes are amber backed with faceted foil to make them glow when they catch the light.
I don't know if I will ever smoke this one. I do have some other pipes by Stephen Downie so knowing just what great smokers he makes might lead me to put fire to this one. However I might just have it on display to admire the artistry. It will make a good companion to this octopus we picked up in Ecuador. For sure they will live close together. It is made of palm ivory (tagua nut) and is only 5" in diameter.
