I'm glad even more knowledgeable people run into tech difficulties since I am so inept. Most people just have better attitudes than I, so they sort out the problems better. I'm sure the new site will be online soon, and we'll all learn to like it, immediately or eventually.

MSO, more knowledgeable people are always running into tech difficulties, it’s part of the job, it’s not like it is in the movies where some coder types a few lines of code in the terminal and everything works on first try. It’s a long process of trial and error, you have to try to conceive of every possible scenario of what can go wrong, every possible outcome and plan accordingly, it’s really an impossible job and the first iteration is going to have some bugs, it’s not until you go live that you run into the “real world” problems and then you have to work around the clock to try to fix those problems from there. It’s a process.

Huh? It's not?? Next thing you'll tell us that a blurry 48 x 48 pixel image can't be blown up into a 20" HD image? And in a split second by a twenty year old wunderkind.

I can relate. They just upgraded the computers here on the rig, it has been a learning experience.

So glad to be retired from software work. Back in the early 80s, the expectations were reasonable. By the time I retired, I was working through the overnight hours on weekends and holidays to implement new systems and upgrades. Even those outages we had to fight to get. Zero downtime will be the eventual expectation. When we had a multi-year multi-million dollar project that would be installed according to plan and with minimal post-implementation issues, which was the norm, no one much celebrated outside our department. The users had no idea of the complexity and the achievement.
Sorry it wasn't as smooth as you hoped Kevin. We can live without the forum for a day or two. Best of luck!
