I agree with the latest post by Cosmic and Sablebrush on this topic.
I like this forum because you can always find differing opinions on a wide variety of topics.

Imagine how boring this world would be if every tobacco was the world's greatest to everyone. It would quickly devolve into a world where all tobacco would taste the same because why bother trying to create a blend that was better. It would be like trying to watch a sport where every game ended in a tie.
Personally - and in my opinion - I have not smoked a Dunhill tobacco that I can't live without. I surmise that part of it's popularity is due to the name on the tin. I have smoked 4 different tins of Dunhill and they were good smokes -IN MY OPINION - but I didn't enjoy them enough to order more.
Can't we all just get along and celebrate the diversity of pipe tobacco.

No need to be so snotty Hawky my boy. In my 45 years of smoking pipes I've tried just about every blemd out there. And I always find it comical how friggin buttsore some people get discussing pipes and tobacco. For those offended do you cry and mess your diaper when someone states they don't like Joes Pizza or Aunt Emmas pecan pie? I mean c'mon ladies, pull your skirt up and grow some balls.
Oh man, you are really starting to upset me now! DO NOT talk bad about Joes Pizza and Aunt Emma's pecan pie! That's just crossing the line! How do you even know them anyway??? Oh, that's right you're like a hundred years old and you've been around... duh! I just soiled my diapers again! Man, why don't you go make out like tree and leave?
But on a serious note, you've tried about every blend out there, eh? Lol. You're funny old dog (apparently not a young buck).
By the way, I rarely see people get upset when you bad mouth a blend, when you call people idiots for liking such a blend however, that's an entirely different story. And it's not hype if you genuinely like it. Nuff said.

Hawky. I remember you from another forum when you weren't so snarky and hateful. And I believe it was you who was the young buck. So what happened to you ? Hanging with a rough crowd or something ?
As far as me using the term "idiot" goes ? I included myself as an idiot as I mentioned I gladly pay top dollar for Penzance which I totally enjoy that blend. But you only read what you wanted to see huh? So whats your beef ? Are you attempting to be some hardass keyboard puncher trying to intimidate a new member? Or are you just being plain ugly? Take a deep breath and try to find a way to view other peoples opinions without the hatred. I won't waste my time and respond back to you so go ahead, get the last word in.
Signed, Your loving Idiot.

We're having a back forth here man. I'm just playing along. Didn't mean to upset you so much. I was having fun. Especially with Joes Pizza and Aunt Emma's pecan pie...
Sorry my man, and when I say "make like a tree and leave" I was just quoting a line from Back to The Future, I don't really want you to leave. I was trying to be funny but it didn't come off as such apparently. I do grow tired of hearing all the shit talk about the Esotericas though because I genuinely like a whole bunch of them and if you don't that's fine but I took the whole idiot name calling the wrong way, so my apologies. I don't want no beef... I wanna be your friend.
I don't run with the tough crowd, if ya take a look around, you'll see I'm a lone wolf.
Truce?

I didn't mean to harsh your mellow, man, but, well . . . . you had it coming. :puffy:

For all I know being the key phrase there. Keep at it young buck, I remember reading this post of yours only last year before you became a Lakeland fan lol

My 250 grams of Full Virginia Flake arrived in a sealed box and it is indeed tainted with the "essence". There is no way that the scent was transferred from a scented flake to a none scented flake in storage... It's bloody tainted! Good news is, smokingpipes.com gave me credit so I therefor bought an entirely different tobacco as far away from that tainted shite as I could get. I hope this was an isolated problem but I discovered this before I even knew the companies had merged, so the power of suggestion had no power on me.

Personally was very underwhelmed with Penzance, Orlik Golden Sliced, and some Rattray's blends. Did not care for any of them unfortunately as much as they are highly praised.

Even though I am a fan of Lakeland tobaccos Pipeman7, I still don't want it in my Full Virginia Flake! I'm just curious, why did you go fishing for that in particular? I don't see what it has to do with anything I've said in this thread? I have no beef with you either, so why are you trying to serve me steak?

Ashdigger, I just wanted to get stupid with the ash-hole bit, great excuse.
I opened a tin of FVF because of this thread. I'd been aging a couple of tins. This Flake is by no way a bland and boring blend. It's about as good as Virginia gets.

Haven't bought FVF in years. Last time was when it cost less than 1/2 what it does now. So, don't know how it tastes these days. But back when I used to smoke it regularly, thought it was about the best straight Virginia flake around. My current tastes are such, however, that I no longer smoke solely or predominantly Virginia tobaccos.
