A bit out of left field, and you may not of heard of him but BK Nowacki, who is a semi-Polish pipe smoker, although he is more known for his sexualising prowess and overtly stud-like presence.

That would suggest that it's the people in the business. Greg Pease and Sykes Wilford come to mind for me. I think Larry Roush and Trevor Talbert probably know quite a bit about pipes and I will bet a fair amount about tobacco as well. I can tell you that Ernie Q from Watch City is also quite knowledgeable on most of the things in the hobby, especially tobacco and leaf, but perhaps he's not quite as famous as the other guys.
