I think for most cigarette smokers, whether former or current, smoking in the car is a habitual ritual.

That goes double for the first smoke of the day when you leave the house.
Since I quit the cigs I've been able to postpone the immediate light up until I get to my favorite coffee shop. It's there that I light my first bowl and smoke it with my coffee (or espresso, or espresso derived drink).

Sex is a real good way to complete the smoking experience! Sex goes real well either right before or just after a nice, thick bowl!

Excellent! I wonder if I passed near you last year when I decided to take a back road to Santa Fe, through the ski area approaching from the NW.... It was a trip my wife will never forget, nor let me try to repeat. Dark was falling and the rented car was not sturdy, and we needed gasoline big time.... but somehow we made it in a car not meant for off-road.

I'm a huge fan of The Ritual, something this pastime serves up in spades. I even enjoy cleaning up after a smoke, something I despise with everything else. I always return my pipe nicely cleaned and prepared for the next smoke.

My smart phone's health app tells me I walked 4.3 miles this morning. Grey-skied and chilly, I was both oblivious and acutely aware of everything I passed. That paired blissfully with the morning pipe. ::
