As I understand it, the winners will be contacted and awarded their prizes (even if not present at the show).
While my article veered a little into a rant about current tobacco politics, I hope that didn't detract from the sense that it was an AMAZING show; actually for my money a lot more fun than Chicago--being a bit smaller and more relaxed, it wasn't overwhelming and I really had time for meaningful conversations with a lot of good folks there. If you weren't in attendance, you missed out on:

Kansas CIty Barbecue

99-year-old cigarettes

13, 20, and 54-year-old Escudo

Ridiculously good cognac

Meeting and greeting the country's best carvers all in one room

Summer's best weather (don't listen to those complaints about the wind, I managed to light my bowl with matches every time)
