I am a little confused so let me get this straight. Your maid/housekeeper cleans your pipes? I don't even let my wife clean my shotguns or dust my flyrods. Is this a new thing I should know about with the super rich?

"She's probably used one of these spray thingies with Cillit Bang or some nasty stuff like that."
With...what?

It's been 16 hours since I started the salt and alcohol method. 24 hours should be OK from what I've read, right?
Here's a pic I've just taken:

I just wait until the salt is dry, and I always leave the stems in place. But I no longer have to do a drastic cleaning since I started with the hot tap water flush.

OK, so I'll check if the salt is dry and see if I dump it...

Can't help thinking the Buddha knows something []
Yes, he probably drinks some of my spirits, no wonder how he gets so chubby. Oh wait, distilled beverages don't make you gain as much weight as beers...
I wish he told me what she used to clean the pipe...

Well, it seems that the salt was not completely dry, but I hope it has removed the ghosting.
For how long should I let the pipe rest before trying it out again in your opinion?

Cillit Bang is a powerful cleaning product for kitchens and bathrooms. I always assumed it was an american product because of the silly commercials and name. I see now it is probably british.

IMO you should find out what chemicals were used first. And really, with how much certainty can you say the salt and alcohol treatment will work? You might want to ask for compensation from the cleaning company on this one. It just boggles the mind that someone would actually use a commercial cleaning product on a pipe, especially inside the bowl.
