B to C. Clenching predominates but not constant but you got me thinking. I’ve been experiencing periodic tongue irritation, not quite tongue bite, and take periodic multi day or week breaks. Can’t pin it to a particular tobacco genre or blend. Perhaps the relatively constant flow of smoke from clenching is a cause. Will switch to D and see if that helps.

I identify now with C. although I struggle with clenching at times, I used to be a B but my teeth have grown more sensitive to the pressure and I much prefer vulcanite stems even now. I hope I can get over that Preference, but it was a pain issue for a long time as I smoke most of the day While I do everything.

MSO489 said. “I don't find clenching for most of a smoke satisfying.” - Yes, Sir. That’s a statement I now agree with but I do understand this doesn’t apply to everyone. I think I taste more this way.

Jmill208 - Well.... yeah ?. Dude! Lol

Peregrinus said, “Generally when I am smoking a pipe it is the focus and not an associate activity.” - Yup, that’s me now. I’ll park the car to enjoy a bowl or I am sitting and relaxing with nothing planned but the pipe and my thoughts. No longer the multitasker.

Danimalia said, “ I'm a bit jealous of those who can clench through a whole smoke...”. - If I could I probably would too. The guys walking the dog with a pipe seem to have it made.

Shermnatman - Never figured you for a locomotive.

Brut666 - Matt, you nut from across the pond you.

Chasingembers - Duane, a tip of my hat to the all time Clenching King.

Biz - Drool.... happens.

Jacob74 - Pipes and Authors go together like peanut butter n jelly. Clench away.
