I received these two pipes from my mom’s second husband during the pandemic, they were his dads, so in a way my grandad, but not really…
I traced them to around WW2, Brigham sportsman they are. I smoked the bent one for a few months, but realistically wasn’t that impressed with them on looks, I have pipes I prefer.
Last year I was getting into straight pipes, and don’t have a ton so picked up this Brigham again…. Noticed lots of rim char so decided to just torch the whole thing, then I sanded it, and coated with olive oil and bam something I really like. Did the bent one just recently, and very happy with the result, the grain just pops.
Also got my first pipe rack recently. The neighbours in my neighbourhood started putting stuff on their lawn they don’t want instead of taking it to the dump, 10-15 years ago. Immediately I knew this small shelf would make a nice rack, gouged out a few holes with a knife and set some twine, faster than IKEA assembly!
