Smoked it twice today, couldn't help myself, after first smoke pipe cleaner was so dry, loaded it up this afternoon and smoked some 50/50 Nitecap/965 mixture, increditable smoke, pipe stays so cool, I love it.

That's a beautiful pipe, pal. If it smokes half as good as it looks then you made an incredible score and I'm delighted for you.
I've been taking your advice on all things pipery for several years now, Mr. Bradley, and you've never, ever steered me wrong. But, would you please explain this "50/50 Nitecap/965 mixture" to me? NC will always be my everyday go-to tobacco but I'm really on the fence when it comes to 965.
What do you like about this DIY blend?

I've never been tempted to tinker with 965. But, since I found Early Morning Pipe too mild and Nightcap too strong, I mixed those two in equal amounts for a very tasty blend.

I like it because sometimes I want a mellower Nitecap without loseing the taste of Nitecap, let me try and explain it Cajun Style, you like hot peppery food, but today you're not up for burning butt up, but still like the taste of pepper, you mix 50/50 and viloa you get the taste and your butt thanks you. Jim I didn't say Cajuns were Faulkners, or Twains but I hope you get the drift. :laughat:

Most times you want the words to paint a picture, to bring you closer to the action and the moment. Not here. I never want to imagine being thanked by Bradley's butt.

I catch your drift, my friend. The imagery was vivid. (And what has been read, sadly, cannot be unread.)
Andy, there have been a few members of this forum who, sadly, have failed in being more conversant than Mr. Simmons' backside.
They aren't missed.
Now, I've got several samples of DH blends that are snooze fests. You guys are suggesting that a little Nightcap might be appropriate? Okay, I'm all in.
