Beautiful! In pictures 6,7 and 9. I see an image that stuck out as soon as I saw it. Near the bottom of the bowl.

I see two men (possibly outlaws) standing at the mouth of a cave with their campfire glowing behind them.
Take a look again. Anyone else see it?

An absolutely stunning modern rendition of a classic! It’s great to have a master like Ken Barnes back in the saddle. I am eagerly looking forward to seeing the other 39 pipes Ken plans to make this year, marking forty years since he and Barry Jones started James Upshall.

Thanks a lot for the kind comments, I was very happy and honoured that I could announce the good news of Ken Barnes making pipes again. Besides a wonderful pipe maker, he is an incredible guy to talk to. I am curious as well to see the other pipes he will be making, I think this billiard really showcases his ability in classical shaping, adding his own flair to it.

Cannot wait for its inaugural smoke next week!

Congratulations, Bazungu! It's always great 1) to receive a "special pipe" 2) to link it to a special event. I wish you great moments and delicious bowl with this beauty!

That thing is gorgeous -- a true museum piece. I hope you don't put it there. It's too magnificent not to be used. You are One Lucky Dude!

"Cpt. Black Grape or equally worthy" -- Now, Jay, don't YOU start in on the dang cleaning fluid. That stuff'll rot your brain.
Now, whether I'm referring to the fluid, or to CBG, I'll leave you to figure out. }};)

I do hope your Masters is not English!
Gorgeous pipe you have there and certainly one to cherish and treasure, all credit of course to Ken

Jay.

@jguss: Ken will not take custom orders anymore but he does have pipes for sale I believe, you can contact him on the forum.

@Jay: Luckily, I am a molecular plant scientist and English is just one of the four languages I have been taught.

@Bill: It is tempting to put it in a glass box and just admire it for its beauty but I am a strong believer pipes are meant to be smoked! (although this one very carefully). Just a few more days of patience.
Very excited to see what Ken will put out next, I am sure they will only get more and more spectacular! Whenever I hold the pipe, I am still awed by his attention to detail and especially the stem work is nothing short of amazing.

I love everything about that pipe, well done. If possible I would like to put my order in for a group 5 Dublin. Somewhere around 45-55 grams, 5.5-6 inches long, bowl height around 2.0" bowl depth around 1.75" and inside bowl width of .82". Just let me know when it is ready and I will forward the funds via paypal.
I think you might have a big time market for your pipes Ken.
