Ah, looking who bought it, perhaps this is the same $100 pipe?
It doesn't look like the same pipe. The grain pattern looks different. Maybe he has more than one. But definitely missed out on a couple of nice Dunnies at $100 Buy It Now! Sometimes that is where the treasure is and not in the bidding auctions.
And wow, what a price for the 1920's Shell Briar! I have to say though, I do prefer the sandblasts which exposes sharper grain rather than the really rough and bumpy blasts on the soft Algerian Briar.

Well, on new Dunhills the Shape 12 is a Chimney, clearly not the case here.

I wonder if was a 120 and the 0 was just missed? The 120 shape evolved over time, the top is a 1927. (picture from Pipepedia)

I examined it again under magnification and there is only the "12". No trace of a a extra digit is visible and the "12" is pretty clear. My guess is it's a 120 as it looks like the top image in your post. It's very elegant.

Many of the blasts are the finest I've, not just capturing ring/flame/straight grain, but also the pattern unique to that bowl's wood. I've not seen the last before.

Beautiful pictures, I really liked the 1935 poker.
