That sounds about right. Funny, raised in The Central Prairie, but took to water like a duck. First swimming and diving, then sailing. Now I live near the ocean, not far from a river.
THAT'S IT!
In a past life you were a duck!

Don't run your babies through the dishwasher, the briar ones or the teething ones, I say.

OK, just returned from the car wash. It was a disaster. Those large floppy strips during the wash cycle flung the pipes out of the shopping cart, and several broke on impact. Then some one thought the bay was empty, drove his truck in, and smashed the rest. Enough, already!

I don't know why I love her like I do

All the changes you put me through

Take my money, my cigarettes

I haven't seen the worst of it yet

I wanna know that you'll tell me

I love to stay

Take me to the river, drop me in the water

Take me to the river, dip me in the water

Washing me down, washing me down.

I'm installing a new dishwasher for the wife this morning.

Old one just wasn't working as well as it should.

Still not gonna put my pipes in there!

Edge of ...? Not sure how to answer.
Like where the bowl goes from top to side. Were any 90° angles like that rounded? Any pitting? Ran a wooden bowl through the dishwasher a few years back and it pitted the hell out of the rim and rounded it.
No rounding or pitting observed. Only the shellac on the MM was affected, but to no detriment to the cob's smoking abilities. These were top rack only, and the pipes were either waxed or oiled frequently enough that that provided some protection in addition to briar being hard. Surprised that the cob didn't fare worse.
