I use a Zippo pipe insert too however I find the flame always goes right to the center of the bowl, meaning it's harder to light the edges. Do you guys find this issue? The regular Zippo insert seems to allow for better control.

You just move it around a little side to side as with any lighter. Personally I find them easier.

You recommend this technique in another thread. I have been using it for a while.

If you are right handed, grasp the lighter as you normally would, with the trigger to the right. Now, turn the lighter 180 degrees in your hand so that the trigger is facing left. Stroke the wheel with your thumb and when you bring the lighter to your pipe the trigger is away from you.

I use Bics.
But I have a different method.
I hold it sideways and use my index finger to strike it. I've never been burned......probably.

I use bic, and burn my fingers all the time, but I burn my fingers just trying to get toast out of the toaster.
Burning your fingers is how you know you are alive.

If you like a bic but sometimes burn your fingers, try a Djeep... These are awesome, inexpensive, and rated at 3500 lights.

I tried the bic ez reach but they only last a few hundred lights max and the igniter is finicky.

I normally prefer matches but Djeep is the only disposable lighter I buy.
