If you like a bic but sometimes burn your fingers, try a Djeep... These are awesome, inexpensive, and rated at 3500 lights.

I tried the bic ez reach but they only last a few hundred lights max and the igniter is finicky.

That’s what a djeep is.

I love them, but have a tendency to put lighter in the fifth pocket in jeans, and the djeep’s gas pedal gets pushed too easily, draining the lighter inadvertently.

That's like my free H&H lighter. I still use my zippo pipe lighter in a pinch though Even if it uses lighter fluid.

No issues at all directing the soft flame on the Djeep. Works like a charm.

I’ll hold the djeep like a tiny pistol and pull striker with my “trigger finger”, points the flame right where I want it.

I’ll get a Beattie Jet someday, it’s on the wishlist.

Started using a Zippo in High School with cigarettes, changed the insert when I put them down and picked up the pipe, after better than 40 years haven't burned anything off and I ain't dead yet.

I use a Zippo pipe insert too however I find the flame always goes right to the center of the bowl, meaning it's harder to light the edges. Do you guys find this issue? The regular Zippo insert seems to allow for better control.

I just use the standard bics you can get in a multipack from the store. Never fail and very cheap!

You just move it around a little side to side as with any lighter. Personally I find them easier.
