I actually prefer cold beer before pipe smoking after a long day. Pipe smoking involves too much ritual for me to be mindless. Of course, after I'm relaxed and well situated, I can enjoy the pipe smoking.

I am having mac baren classic loose cut. At first I didn't that much care for it but now I am starting to appreciate it's subtle taste.
Not I. Put the pipe in a bag, jar, or tin, shove tobacco in it and smoke with a beer.

There's nothing quite like smoking a pipe after a couple of drinks. Especially after I've taken a break smoking a couple of days. Tobacco and alcohol has for a long time been an excellent synergizing mixture both in the flavors together and the intoxicating feeling. Perfect for anyone who works and needs to wind down a bit. Let's not forget about the morning mix of caffeine and tobacco as well.
Since I have a bowl burning all waking hours, I am always walking on sunshine. 
For me, it's the morning pipe paired with coffee. As the sun is just coming up. Everything is cool and still quiet. The blue light of dawn begins finding its way into the room.
I often prepare the night before; selecting a blend, loading the chamber. Sometimes I even do a char light as well (DGT). And I get pre-happy just knowing nirvana is waiting for me on the other side of sleep.

I do love an occasional Yuengling,ice cold, with an evening bowl! Pure relaxation!
I just had my last bowl of the day, Squadron Leader in a Peterson Baskerville with a Brandy Glass of Calvados (apple cider brandy) pure bliss or pure Zen.

Lately I've been enjoying drinks less and less so I guess I am taking a break for few months at least to let my mind and body reset. I can imagine coffee being awesome with pipe, but sadly I developed caffeine sensitivity so no more coffee for me :/
Might have to try if black tea pairs well with pipe tobacco, sounds like the Russian or British method :D
