That First "Proper" Smoke...

This is mostly a thank you to all you guys on this forum. An awful lot of great advice, links and knowledge around for new pipe smokers like myself.
Tonight, I finally managed a proper pipe. No packing too tight, blowing huge clouds of smoke and seemingly endless relights for a change! A very light pack, nice slow, fairly shallow puffs, tried a different approach to tamping, and it all seemed to work. This is probably the first time the bowl was cool enough to actually hold for the entire duration - usually by just over half way, it's burning hot to the touch.
Just a very pleasant, relaxing, evening pipe.

Good, Joeval. You've gotten through the door. I think many who try but abandon pipes just can't get to that point.

Now just relax and find the tobacco you enjoy, and the pipes you enjoy, and don't worry about trying to follow

someone else's enthusiasm. Happy smoking!
