Glad you are on the mend Harris.
I've had broken bones and heart attacks. But nothing compared to the pain of my gall stones until I had kidney stones. And once you pass one, you're scared to pee for a week because you just know there is another one waiting to cut its way out again. Best of luck! :puffy:

Glad to you are better my friend and that they could "blast that $hit", as I said in your other post.
I just finished a bowl of Klondike Gold in your honor. Not sure if you can get outdoors and have a pipe, so I had one for you :puffy:

Glad your doing well mate. I had em twice. Once on each side. Feels akin to Child Labour. Mine passed on their own but the one time, it took 3 weeks. Not a good time at all. Had xrays done and the Doc said there were 7 grey areas in the affected Kidney.

peck, too funny, thanks for the laugh.
av8scuba, isn't is amazing that something as small as 7mm can be so painful? I have broken plenty of bones, ripped up my share of tendons and ligaments, had 2 back surgeries, 2 foot surgeries, one shoulder surgery, 3 episodes of Bells Palsy, and two episodes of Viral Meningitis and only the meningitis was comparable to the stones pain wise. Kidney stone pain is definitely one of the worst things a man can go through. I have seen my ex wife deliver 4 kids and that looked like some serious pain.

I have a former co-worker who has given birth twice and had a kidney stone - she'd rather give birth again.
Glad you're on the mend!

Glad you're feeling better buddy and they finally blasted them. Why did they take so long to blast them? Pissing in a strainer is like mining for gold ;)
Peck it actually feels about that size but blue. It's more likely that pool cue chalk caused this problem in the first place. :P
Uric acid stones are the worst because of their shape, not rounded but sharp edges that can catch and tear. Calcium stones pass with less chance of internal damage potential. Every time I read a post from you, it just sits me back for a few minutes and truly feel for you, if you've never had them, you've no idea. People compare it to having a baby. I disagree because when you have the baby it's finished. Stones can go on for days or weeks and you never know.
To help bone knitting from a car accident in '79 I received massive calcium doses that caused me to have stones almost monthly for years. This was before they could break them up and you would sit with a little plastic strainer, searing pain like you're being branded without the great meds today. Praying to god hard and fast to not only piss but also be that golden moment when life returns to normal in an instant.
Medicine is so great today compared to pre-2000. I had five gallbladder stones that had been bouncing around since the 80's, and then about four years ago one was stuck and caused pancreatitis. Checked in at 7AM the next day and had my gallbladder removed with laparoscopic surgery. Three hours later, four Band-Aids and drove home. Before it was major and they opened you up and laid you out for 6 weeks.
Praying for that magic moment brother!
Craig

craig, the only reason I can think of that they took so long to go for the blasting was that after they went in to get it and were unsuccessful, they needed time for my ureter to be strong enough to take the blast of the ultra sounds. I have had the stent in my since they went in after it and I guess they needed to have it long enough to gain some strength. If my ureter collapsed, that would have been a nightmare scenario.
Tomorrow I go to my urologists office for them to yank the stent out, that always sucks.
nsfisher, those 7 grey areas are small stones that you are going to have to eventually deal with. You should see a urologist and see about getting them blasted as that is always much easier than once they get stuck. Don't just ignore them as they will not just go away on their own.

Today I was at my urologists and he yanked out the stent finally and told me that for the next 7-10 days I will still be pissing out gravel and more smaller stones. He wants me to screen my urine the whole time so they can analyze what they made of. I will be out of the major pain in a couple of days but will have some pain for the next 10 days or so. This episode was definitely the worst as the stent was in longer than any other so hopefully they will be able to determine what the stones were comprised of and put me on medication to keep them away for good. This new urologist was definitely the best of all of the ones I have had in the past, so I am hoping that he will figure out how to keep them away for good.
I want to thank everyone for their kind words and and support through this ordeal. It really helped a lot more than you know.

Glad to see that the most painful part of this ailment is behind you and that you are progressing nicely. While you were in pain, Peck kept us in stitches. What a fine crew we have here.
