Cigarmaster bargin eh?! Haha no thats not the one I have my eye on. Maybe I meant pot bowl? I still dont know the bow shapes very well.

@revkesef thank you for the offer brother but I couldn't possibly expect you to send tobacco and pay for shipping, but the intention is very thoughtful and much appreciated!

Peck:

Your detective skills are impressive...

If I had someone guiding me to tobaccos and suggestions when I started smoking a pipe, my move to piping would have been much smoother in terms of finding tobacco that I liked. Plus, we're Canadian, which makes it so much harder in terms of pipe and tobacco choices. On top of that, being Canadian means we're extra friendly right???

Oh no, the secret is out! Sorry shutterbug! Well at least now you can get the recognition you deserve. Your generosity was more than apprecisted! You are totally right about it being so hard to find the right blend up here seeing as tins cost around 30 bucks so thank you for making this easy for me! I tried the mac baren virginia no.1 and quite enjoyed it! I look forward to trying all the rest. You are also right about us canadians being kind folk!

shutterbug, nicely done.
mtgallet, that is a classic Apple shape and yes the price is a bit absurd. Here is a link( http://www.cupojoes.com/dunhill_shape_chart.html ) of some pipe shapes which should help you to recognize what you are looking at. I have found that certain shapes lend themselves to certain types of blends. I am a big Apple fan for smoking my flakes. I don't know what types of blends you enjoy, but if you let me know I can give you my opinion as to what shapes may work best for you. I have found over the years that matching up a certain size and shape of pipe to a certain type of blend, makes for a better smoking experience.

Cigarmaster, Thanks for the info, very helpful. I don't know what I like smoking yet as I am still relatively new to this, though this: http://www.4noggins.com/Peterson-Aran-87-P-Lip-Pipe.aspx is the pipe that I am absolutely in love with! I am going to hold out on buying it for as long as possible, plus, I don't know how I feel about the P-lip, but I am sure it is also available in a fishtail version.
Thanks ssjones! glad to be here!

I'm a new mbr and Canadian too! Its bloody cold up here and way to much white stuff flying around. My pipe is helping me stay warm though.
Well said mtgallet, I have a few posts under my belt on the forum and the response has been brilliant. Lots of great advice, very much appreciated!
Thanks all.
