We just got to Kerrville with the Texas Veterinary association rescuing stranded animals this morning. This isn't the 1st time we have been a part of something like this but this time the devastation is unreal.

My daughter Dr. Vanna Braswell brings out a terrified guy.

Pray for the people here there is so much loss it's heartbreaking. The Medical and Human search and rescue people are running on adrenaline and lots of coffee.

Getting a smoke in before heading out this morning. One of the drone operators took pictures of some cattle and horses along the tree line of that hill. They seem to be making their way towards our camp. Guessing they smell the coffee eggs and bacon.

It’s been a sad week in Texas. Even those not directly impacted are grieving this.

When we got in this afternoon Tuyen, my wife told me this guy William Thurman from Beaumont pulled into the campgrounds with his motorhome and barbeque rigs and a refrigerated bobtail truck full of goodies right after we went out to start our day. As soon as he got set up, he started cooking by 1:30 he was serving displaced families and rescue teams. By the time we got in he and his wife had served over 925 plates of barbeque potato salad coleslaw bread and buckets of tea.

All this and he smokes Prince Albert in a Savinelli Miele Dublin. Will said his son is on the way with another truck for tomorrow, and they will be here as long as we are. It's people like him that restores ones hope for humanity.

I suffered a bit of a tragedy of my own today, somewhere on the bottom of all the water we have been wading through all day lies my Dagner Devil Anse. I'm so glad my wife packed a couple of other pipes for me.

I also would like to give a shout out to whoever designed the pocket jar. Even though it was submerged a lot of the day my tobacco stayed dry and ready to smoke when we got back to camp.
