If you're interested in maple flavored blends then I suggest C&D's Autumn Evening, which I think is better than McClelland's Town Topic.

Another of my favorites is Rattray's Bagpiper's Dream. The aroma is simply amazing, rarely needs to be re-lit and Rattray's tobaccos are of the highest quality.

Welcome and good luck.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned any of Boswell's aromatics. I think Berry Cobbler and Christmas Cookie are two of the best I've smoked (next to a local B&M Christmas blend).

I'll add a vote for Captain Black (white). This a great go-to tobacco, mild and flavorful with a very nice aroma, and you can get it at just about any drug store.

I've just ordered a tin of... Dan Sweet Vanilla Honeydew and... 2oz. of Lane 1Q. I'm sure they'll make an impression!

Reviews, no matter where they come from, can be helpful if you can see beyond either the hype or the chopping block. By that I mean that all too often. people either boost or slam a blend due to personal feelings. So you should read all the reviews for any blend, and get a feel for it that way, ignoring any great swings of opinion.
As for aromatics, I think they should be listed as aromatics or Flavored blends. Most of what I consider an aromatic smells good but testes not so good, and is often extremely moist. Flavored blends, on the other hand, have wonderful room note and also taste great, all though the bowl. Of course your own smoking style can affect how a blend performs. If you puff like a freight train, any blend will suffer. Pack loose and smoke slow, and almost any blend can shine.
I would suggest 4noggins Double Fantasy, which reminds me of a nice, warm cup of mocha coffee. It won't gunk up your pipe, and the flavor is constant from first light to ash. This is on par with Peterson's round tinned flavored aromatics, which are some of my favorites.

Check out any aromatics from Sterling/1776 tobaccos - crafted by Jack Peterson - they are totally unique, well crafted and delicious. I have 8 ounces of Old Dominion in my tobacco bin which I like to dip into now and then.

Have to say, I just tried 1Q and it is great. One of my fav aero though is Peterson Christmas 2010 blend. Only seen it once and bought it and can't find it on any review site.

When I was an areo man, I smoked my fair share of Pipeworks & Wilke, quality tobacco and a pretty good selection as well. I will say tho, (IMO) anything w/cherry is the devil!

For brands I've come to consider Peterson's and CAO my sure-fire for aromatics--not only is there not a bad blend amongst them, they are all top-shelf IMHO.
