I just received a : 17 GENUINE BLOCK MEERSCHAUM in a group of pipes I got on the Bay. It clearly shows that the stem is threaded. The stem is clogged and I haven't been able to loosen the crap with alcohol...and I don't want to force the thread and break it. This looks like a really nice pipe to me, a novice. It's so light it's amazing. I can't wait to get it up and running. I have looked for a similar one and could only find one on Worthpoint and don't want to go through their registration to see what these are worth. Let's just say I think it's worth at least $60.00 and maybe more. This looks to be a Tanganyika. or whatever they're called. straight stem, not bent. overall length is 6 in. The bowl is 3/4" wide and 1 1/2" deep. It's got a carved? bark like texture. The walls are 1/4" thick not including some of the irregular bark carving which adds another 1/16th to its thickness. The lip of the bowl looks to have been darkened by the manufacturer not a smoker and the overall color (bowl) is like coffee half...the lip is a rich reddish brown. Have I got me a lucky find?

Advice?

Thanks for bumping this up. I missed Keith's collection last time around. It was certainty worth revisiting.
