I have a few tampers: The lowly pipe nail, a 3:1 enclosed briar, a Grenci handmade, a few older ones that have no name but have gadgets inside of them. I have one that I am making from some old Red Wood.
I have used a finger but prefer a tamper. Especially since I work with people face to face in a professional environment. Having clean hands with a black finger/nail would not inspire confidence in a hospital setting.

3 are Czech tools and then I do actually have a really nice, unused, Dunhill Cumberland 3 in 1 that matches my north year Chestnut.

About 4 Czech tools (truck, lunchbox, safety vest, desk), a couple Morgan Taylor’s, and my favorite- a 
300grain wide flat nose 44mag for the patio. And a few golf tees.

I have a Julius Vesz and a few other premium tampers from carvers, but I keep the upstairs in box in my dresser to lazy to looks all that I have. Never use them as they aren't as useful as a pipe nail.
All I have is a Czech tool, but I wouldn't mind getting a few fancier ones. Tampers are such an underrated item of tobacciana. I love how custom pipes often have a matching tamper included.
Recently purchased this tamper for a ridiculous amount of $$. Customized with "Doc" in ruins on the badge.
Otherwise, I like the 8decco as @Chasing Embers states it has a scoop, concave tamper, and internal pic with a nice looking barrel at an affordable price.

You stated that you used a finger in a previous similar post. I tried it and have not touched a tamper or czech tool since.
Always there in a pinch. I like a concave tamper just to help push stuff to the middle if I’m so inclined, but it’s reassuring to know you’re never truly without one.
