Everyone keeps complaining about losing tampers. Here is what I have made to resolve this problem. My smoking area is kept between studs in my partially finished basement. The stand contains three tampers from previous exchanges and has room for a total of seven. I simply drilled holes through the top piece and into the bottom piece. Then sanded, finished, and mounted them to the wall. Obviously this could be much more elegant, but my problem is now solved.

I made one a while back from a chunk or Mulberry. It's just a block of wood with holes in it,sanded and varnished. I like yours much better! May make my self something similar!

Awesome idea for a tamper stand. As I make more and more of the little buggers, I need a place to store them. I think I'll take a crack and making one here soon.
Thanks for sharing!
