I have shitty insulation in the house, a leak in the evaporator coil, so I have to recharge about every 3 weeks or so, flex duct squashed flat across the band hangers. So I'm going to replace the entire system next month. Our Lennox rep is going to get me a new Heat Pump/ Gas Furnace...Dual Fuel air handling unit with a 15 SEER outdoor unit. The out door unit will run in the HP mode down to 45 degrees, then the Gas Furnace will take over from there.
The new R410a systems do have great efficiency over the R-22 units, but the government Criminals already have it on the hit list as needing to be replaced in the future with a different refrigerant...anything for them to make obsene profits with. With 99% of all households in the country with R-22 in the units, and laws stating that replacements will have to use the new refrigerant, they'll make a sh!t load of money.

Was 108 here today. Took the puppy out for his "business" and the door handle was all but too hot to touch when we came back in. Even the pool water was hot. More of the same expected for Sunday.

Warm enough to take a midnight swim here, unusual but always enjoyed.
We have several thousand homes without power here, just across the river in WV. Our neighborhood is on the grid with a nursing home across the highway, we've been here 13 years and never lost power,yet....

No thunder storms yet, and no power outages as yet. Can't handle the heat this much but will survive. Seems the older I get the less I like the heat, strange because I want to retire to Myrtle Beach in a few years. :puffy:

well it's the third day of 100+ temps here in N.C. I don't have AC in my house, luckily lots of shade trees around the house and i built this house with high cielings and lots of windows. Using fans It's comfortable until it gets over 95, then I begin to 2nd guess myself about not putting in AC. I just have to light a bowl, grab a cold beer and remember that my power bill is never over 75.00 a month and that this heat wave to shall pass. :puffy:

I was apart of those storms in Ohio. Luckily our power was only out for 24 hours. We were on vacation and had someone house/dog sitting. We also own a rental property and there power is still out. High is high 90's low 100's today
