It seems little flimsy to use for tobacco……
I’m thinking maybe a coffee holder? This one at least has a decent rubber seal. I wouldn’t trust it a long time of constant opening and closing. Perhaps like 8 ounces at a time for stuff you constantly use….
I rec'd one of those tins a couple years ago, don't really know what it's good for...

Yeah, I'm too much of a variety guy and can't imagine any significant amount of leaf maintaining it's character if I were to fill one up and use until empty. Although I never looked and didn't know it had a rubber seal. The only thing I've got that size is a tub of CH, and it closes pretty tight - but mostly doesn't dry out from all the PG.

It’s actually a pretty good rubber seal. I had to look at it a few times.
I may use it for short term use of something I smoke a lot but not an entire pound like it will hold.

It's worth at least trying even if it's not for everybody. Preparation can be a bit daunting at first but it's really not bad. You will have relights, sometimes more or less than others. Be prepared for heightened nicotine levels, especially in the brown twists which have more than black. Black just looks scarier. Twists also serve a double purpose, as some like to cut off a chunk to chew. I don't really chew, but have tried it and it's tasty.
I'm for sure going to order some soon. Can't wait actually. I don't mind a little prep time

I use scissors and just cut tiny coins. Run them out good. Let it dry a few hours.
Just had a bowl of brown Irish twist aromatic. I can say, it’s good.
Also I have heard of people using a cigar cutter to cut the rope into coins, I have never tried it that way. You will find the entire process rewarding.

Also got the GH tin with purchase. Cool swag, but I dont think it will be used for tobacco.

Handy for cased meers though
eh..... it seems somewhat sturdy and sealed enough to use. I sure would not put anything in there for long term storage.
I think my original idea of putting coffee in it will be the standing practice in my house. Nothing like pipe tobacco flavored coffee.

I wanted the free G&H tin, but SP has been out of Brown Flake Scented and Aniseed Twist for a while. Grabbed 4oz of each from Boswell along with another 8oz of Northwoods. SP did have the Mac Baren Dark Twist Roll Cake so bought the full 16oz of that. I have another 16oz incoming of their Scottish Mixture and then will be 'done' for now. :)

Haven't had any of the above and am really looking forward to trying them. My first twist too!

Yeah, I don't buy my tobacco in the quantities that you guys do either.
I did decide to explore blends containing cigar leaf so I ordered one tin each of

Maestro Puccini
Key Largo
Purple Cow
Warped: Saint Espresso

And I saw Gawith & Hoggarth Rum Flake and Sweet Peach were in stock so I ordered a tin of each of those. When I received my order yesterday, I was confused because I didn't get the Rum Flake tin. Instead I received a tin of Jamaican Flake which is apparently the label put on Rum Flake so it can be sold in the EU.

I smoked a bowl of Key Largo followed by a bowl of Saint Espresso last night. I am not disappointed in either blend.

Are you storing for long term? If so you’d be better off using two piece canning jars. No need for a boveda.
No, not long term. I use canning jars for most of my tobacco and they’re all tucked away in a hutch drawer. A few of my favorites are on top of the hutch in our dining room, so I want them to look nice as well as be functional. The crocks seemed like a great idea with the food-grade silicone gaskets I made for them, but they just didn’t hold humidity and the Bovedas dried out very quickly.
