Does anyone know about this site or have any background on it? Seems to be a collected database of pipe tobacco (think TobaccoReviews.com).

Why not go there and check it out. This site covers my needs. It's got Jim!
I played around a bit with it. It is someone's pet project. Nice look, but the interface needs a lot of work.
The guy who operates the website is a member on reddit and posts there. He seems to be crowdfunding the effort.
