Tabac Manil: Le Petit Robin
Have you tried it? If so is it good, bad, indifferent or a gimmick?

No joke straight up tobacco. I've tried it, it's a different kind of Burley with a very light floral note and barnyard type elements. It's not for everyone, but you may love it.

$25.00 for a 100g tin...I hope those are really good barnyard type elements. But it's not that bad when I think of 50g tins I buy. Besides I just gotta know... (Thanks!)

I'm a fan of all three of the blends.I was least impressed with Robin. It's a very fine cut tobacco. It's more like a rich cigarette tobacco. Good stuff, but not so complex imo.

I'd suggest La Brumeuse if it's your first semois experience. The green label is truly unique.

Probably not a good idea as this does not taste like a "normal" Burley would. There are other Semois tobaccos that are Cigar Filler ( as in the kind Joseph Martin grows).

@jitterbugdude - (Only have been smoking 6 weeks or so, so take it at its face value).
Understood. Just didn't want you to try Semois and think ALL Burleys were similar. Semois is in a class all by itself, taste-wise.

I am not inspired to try it.
Semois is glorious.
No need to make a mixture unless there is some advantage to incorporating less unique tobaccos. That means it is either designed to introduce Semois to the herd, or is using cheaper leaf to make a profit.
There is no way this tobacco blend is a good purchase, in other words.

Tabac-Manil Semois thick and medium cuts, the pure burley variant leaf, is in my top three tobaccos of any kind. Le Petit Robin, sampled courtesy of a Forums member, is tasty, really good, but not quite up to the other two. I believe Robin is blended, whereas the others are one leaf tobaccos. None of these is a universal favorite, but if you love burley and don't expect this to smoke like the standard domestic burley (it's from Belgium) you may really delight in the two single-leaf versions.
