Paging Dr. @JimInks , who if I recall noted in a review that the taste of SWR is essentially unchanged with the exception of some of the 1940s production.

I have read 2024 SWR has a stronger vinegar note than in years past. Is anyone else experiencing that? The 7oz can I recently opened was very vinegary, but I usually enjoy the SWRA version and am not as well versed on “OG” SWR.

Since production moved to Denmark IIRC, it's a very different animal.

Today I visited a pipe friend who I only occasionally talk to or see. He told me that in a recent tobacco order he added a can of SWR. He said the smell and taste of vinegar was so strong he trashed it! That's a shame. I can't but wonder what would have happened if he had laid it out in the air for a while. Maybe the vinegar taste/smell would have gone away? puffy

That review was written before production moved to Denmark. I have not tried the Danish version so I can't update it. And with the trouble I had even signing in, the best I can do if I ever do get to try it is to post the update at this forum.

The vinegar seems to be a recent phenomenon. I have some pouches I bought in late '22 that are made in Denmark and they are fine. Have not bought any recently to compare but I'm not sure that's necessary due to the unanimity of the commentary.
