Hi Guys,
I have a couple of pipes that are fairly new (about 4 months old) with maybe 50 smokes each. I want to switch them for tobacco selection - 1 used for Aromatics that I want to use for English and the other I use for English and want to switch it to Aromatics. I'm smoking less aromatics and more english and like my Savinelli more than my Brebbia (bigger bowl, better feel....)
Should I do a full salt and alcohol treatment or would a good alcohol and pipe cleaner rub do the job. I can really smell the vanilla in the pipe and don't want to ghost any flavor.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,

Steeve

My motto is always: Try it the easy way first. If it doesn't work, then go hard way.
Seriously though, it depends. If you give it a good cleaning with pipe cleaners and alcohol (being careful with the finish), then smoke it a few times, you may be fine. I've gone back and forth without too much anguish. Maybe try a few smokes the really easy way - don't do anything.
I think the latakia will bury the aro quicker than the other way around, but that's the pipe you seem to be more concerned about anywho.

I agree here with the other guys, just make the change with your pipes and tobacs. Those old flavors should go away in time, it would not hurt to do a little alcohol cleaning if u chose. Good luck.
