Sutliff still in stock

Haven't been keeping up with the forums or Tobbacoo news in months so forgive me (this my first time seeing stuff go away) but at the first of the year I was reading everyone was up in arms about Sutliff baccy going away due to buy out and closures in the spring. I see there is still a ton of it for sale on SP. Im guessing this is just because they had so much in stock? I figured all you hoarders would hold have it all bought up by now......or they still producing it?

Depends what it is. Sutliff have some kick a$$ blends but also some absolutely diabolical stuff too that have made me very green around the gills in the past - not surprised if there’s a ton of that left.

Pipesandcigars still have 507 slices in stock. And thebriary still has a few, including 515 rc1. Those are the only 2 I really cared about though

That’s as may be, but I’m not wasting space on them. I didn’t fall in love with them before the Sutliffocalypse, I don’t want to do so now that they’re gone forever.

Embers is right, all the prized non-aromatics are mostly gone. I see a couple Englishes are still around, but 507-C, Match Vic, 515...the sought after stuff is all privately cellared now. Well, that and up on TinBids, but I don't have any KY Jelly handy...

I heavily cellared TS24, TS19, Mocha Strips, Black Cordial, Flying Dutchman Match, Elizabethan Match, Ready Rubbed, and Phantom Privateer long before the announcement.

Did the same myself with Mac Baren, even the blends STG is retaining. I know you've mentioned here before that a great deal of that poundage was under $40 only eight or so years ago...before I picked up the pipe, of course! But I suppose even double that is better than TinBids prices. C'est la vie!

P&C is having a 20% off sale now. Works out to $38.55 a pound for the 507-C slices which is showing as in stock.

It would pretty difficult to produce since the factory was emptied out of equipment and the property put up for sale.

Appreciate hooking deserving folk up however, like I hike for my backcountry ski turns (no sleds), I think folks should have to search for the remaining Sutliff. Am I crazy to dislike big neon signs telling the flippers where easy scores are located?

If you are referring to my post, I suspect the flippers are way ahead of me. I was just pointing out a sale for people who like 507-C. It’s still being produced, so I can’t imagine people are paying scalper prices for it.

I’m not sure I’d pay sticker price on it even if it had 10 years of age.

507-C was never made by Sutliff. It was, and probably still is, made by STG. The above sheet refers to products made by Sutliff and MacBaren.
