I typically avoid Sutliff, though I do like Mixture 79 and Queen Anne's Revenge, but after reading about RR in a couple of threads lately, I ordered some. Actually a pound. I've smoked it exclusively for the past week at work and at home, and really enjoy it.
It burns cool and dry, has a nice nutty, sweet molasses taste with just a hint of cocoa, and is definitely an all day smoke. Not a terribly nuanced smoke, and not for someone trying to find all of the blend's components, but a nice companion smoke with a pleasant aftertaste and a nice room note.
The cut is somewhere between cubed, and rough, and benefits from a brief drying time. Gravity filling is key to enjoying this one as well as very light use of a tamper. Will burn straight to the bottom of the bowl with minimal relights and leaves no moisture and very little dottle. I have found that this one really likes a short wide bowl, so pots are a must, though I suspect a Savinelli 320 would be ideal. Will definitely order more.

Great stuff, It is very close to the ERR that I've tried. Can be a little funky at the end of the bowl, I find that it's the Dottie burning. If smoked slow the funky taste goes away. Great review.

I enjoy the Sutliff ERR Match very much but I've recently purchased Lane Limited Ready Rub and have been enjoying it slightly more. Both are excellent blends and I keep both in my rotation.

I heartily recommend the Lane's Ready Rubbed, not in comparison to any similar blend, but simply on its own merits.

After finding RR, I think I can finally stop lamenting the discontinuation of Angler's Dream.

Interesting to hear your take on the cut. When I ordered some a year or so ago, I found it was very large cubes. The way you describe it sounds more along the lines of SWR or the original ERR'd which I always found to be a crumb cut. Wonder if they made some changes.

I do like my pots, the traditional cylindrical versions and the Stanwell shape 86 pot. Other pipes with wider shallow bowls include authors and diplomats, depending on the pipe.

I agree with you. The cut has changed with the Sutliff Match. What I have now is a large cut, but the current cut is more in line with cut of Edgeworth RR. I think Jiminks commented on this on TR.

I've enjoyed the Lane RR a lot. Smoke it a bit more in warm weather than I do cold. Strongly recommended.

Sutliff's ERR match is the only nic-less blend I smoke. I very much enjoy the taste and burning qualities, and others seem to tolerate the room note better than most other blends, in fact, more so than fruit or liquor-flavored aros. People say it has that "old time pipey" aroma.
I did try the Lane's version, and it too is a pleasant-tasting and smelling blend. I feel it burns hotter than the Sutliff match due to the cut, and AFAIK is only available in a large can, whereas the Sutliff match can be had in any quantity from 1oz on up.
