Great topic. And, thanks for the chart.
I used McC-#2050 in one of my home-brewed mixtures and will now try using the Sutliff equivalent. If it comes close, I'll still be in business. Too bad Mc Clelland is no more, and it's lamentable that their revered tobacco blends will no longer be available. Reality bites!
But it's nice to see we might have some alternatives to smoke. I have no horse in this race...I never smoked Mc Clelland's mixtures ....but I still feel your pain. It's tough to lose old friends.

"Didn't you know; all Sutliff tobacco tastes like Butera Pelican, Esoterica Penzance, and McClelland's Red Cake. All of them. At the same time. Please buy our blends."

I talk bad about Sutliff but truth is, they are the reason why we have St. Bruno in the States, so for that, I am very grateful to them.

Damn, I thought this was a WTT thread. I was going to offer my cellar of aged McClelland VAs for a pound of Sutliff Bananas & Crème.

Plus none of these Virginia Matches have that fine American Infrastructure to back them up. Interesting, but I'll stick to the Ready Rubbed match and call it a day.

Why be critical of them?
Because I enjoy Sutliff and their tobaccos produced for other companies, Angler's Dream especially, and they needn't use the demise of another company to up their popularity.
The impact of Sutliff leaving the market would have a much greater impact overall on the pipe smoking industry than McClelland.
True. They produce many other brands' blends, and what a mess that would be!
