The "Socialists" hated the Nazis from day one, because the "socialists" for the most part were really Soviets. The Nazis despised the Communists, even though they were closer to each other politically and ideologically, then they were to US capitalism. Although there was a great love affair between American industrialists and the Nazis. One thing is for sure: When you start killing the smart people, your goose is cooked.
Now, we know that Stalin smoked a pipe. As did Baldwin, Chamberlain and Atlee. But not Churchill. Or Hitler.

Well, that just shows the idiocy, confusion, and lack of conviction of people like Spencer. It's true that right/left boundaries have broken down to some degree, and "populist" has very different connotations than it did just a year ago. But there's no way the Nazis can be considered actual socialists (or democrats as is often claimed), regardless of what they called themselves. Most of their beliefs and policies had nothing to do with those of the left. If anything, they were an unholy corruption of both left and right.

1. Home blending is not going to go away, and for most basic types of blends, results similar to those from the big houses can be achieved relatively easily.

2. Home growing is going to get more important.

3. Obviously, networking between farmers, producers, and fanbase are necessary.

4. Perhaps pipe-smoking can be re-styled as a "revolutionary" or "reactionary" activity.
In the meantime, I am going to keep investing my time and energy into producing my own, whether from the dirt up or using blending components sourced from SPC & PNC.
Going to be researching growing my own this year. At least here in Iowa the soil is black and rich, worth a try!

Nazism was essentially a Hitler-cult, spiced up with some nationalistic world dominion fantasies. And killing the jews, gypsies, retards, homosexuals, well, pretty much everyone else. There is no nazism without Hitler.
And btw, you guys should be stockpiling good moviescripts. Make Hollywood great again

It's all right there in the History of the Early American Progressive Movement. Wilson/FDR being its leaders. Oh Yea Teddy too.
It's true Nazism did become Hitlarian.
Better stop now before we break some rules. I don't believe any of us will stand by and allow something like Hitler happen again. But I could be wrong.

Woodsroad, I note that there is ANOTHER great love affair going on between American industrialists- but this time with the Chinese. As my dad used to say, "Before the war we shipped scrap metal to the Japs - and they sent it back to us at Pearl Harbor". As this Forum is non-political, I must prominently note that I raise this concern ONLY to warn all on the board to stock up now on all their favorite Chinese pipe tobacco blends before they send all those Intel computer chips we make in Shanghai back to us inside cruse missiles.

IMO, the first step toward even beginning to accurately perceive the current social/political landscape is to free your mind from the fake and meaningless left/right paradigm.
It's nothing but a divide and conquer game.
IMO.

Left/right is meaningless. Especially in today's climate. It's more of a calling card. So is this crazy class system. There is no class in the USA. You live and die by the amount of work that you want to put in to build your pie. IMO

I think at this point, I need to work on being theGuy that's active in the forum. Instead of being the political guy.
It's all philosophy to me, but then who am I?

I certainly agree that it's supposed to be that way...and while it's never been 100% like that, it's less that way now than it's ever been before...IMO.

Left vs Right is a marketing ploy designed to divide the electorate. We need to stop thinking in political 2-dimensions.

I think we should all start growing Red Virginia crops
I sun cured 30 Virginia Brightleaf last year (and flue cured a smaller amount). The sun cured is excellent. Next year I'll try my hand at flue curing some Red Virginia.

But I thought we were a 2 party system type country?
