What blend is calling to you this summer? Personally, I haven't smoked Presbyterian in about a year, but its whispering to me in this heat. Also, SG Navy Flake is a solid summer afternoon smoke for me. You? And what will you likely not smoke until fall?

Right now, in heavy rotation, is Scottish Mixture and Luxury Bullseye Flake. In the fall... that's tough. I don't really have a seasonal doctrine.
I smoke the same blends year round and make no adjustments for the seasons. That makes more sense, at least to me, since i smoke almost no English blends.
I usually smoke three Blends - Six Pence, Stonehenge, and Mad Fiddler year round.
No seasonal rotation. I've mostly been smoking Red Cake for the past two weeks though.
The heat has me loving glengarry flake and escudo. I will probably smoke light lakelands and virginias mostly until fall when i break out my stash of presbyterian.
In the summers I like any straight Va or vaper. I also like Erinmore and Ennerdale flake on a hot day. When I want something smoky I prefer dark fired blends in the summer and latakia in the cooler months.

Whatever I have in rotation. But will be using smaller bowls or half fill my bigger pipes for quicker smoke.
It‘s still relatively cool in Northern California ...and technically not summer…but I’m ripping through this tin of Eight State Burley - seems like a nice summer smoke!
I think I’ve smoked the same three blends out of the same three pipes for the last three months. Perhaps it’s time for a purge...
Now that the weather is warming, I find myself reaching for more Bayou Morning and SG Navy Flake and less heavy Englishes. But still lots of burley and aromatic blends. And I still enjoy my English by the fireside.
Odd for me to hear people shift towards virginia and va/per blends in the summer; I do the exact opposite - because of their natural tendency to burn hotter, I almost always smoke those blends in cooler temps.
One blend I really appreciate in the summertime is Samuel Gawith's Balkan Flake. It's advertised as "Deliciously Cool" and that's pretty much exactly what you get. I popped a tin from 2013 a few months ago, but really have been waiting for the weather to get warmer before I tackled it.

Man, if it didn't unceremoniously drop to 66 here today, I'd definitely have packed a bowl of this crystalized beauty. But alas, it's freezing today!

Yep in my whole leaf blends I've been using a heavier hand with the stoved virginias and perique and less Kentucky and latakia.

I pretty much smoke the same blends year round, every now and then I'll venture outside of my comfort zone.
It's not the heat, it's the humidity. No, that's not quite it. For me, it's the heavy feel that latikia brings. Virginias and vapers are much lighter.
I always tell myself I'm going to smoke some of these good Va/Pers in the warmer months, and then go right on smoking English blends and burleys, with the occasional Va/Per as a change of pace.
