Stupid is as stupid does ... now, which tree in the forest of gumps said that? Kidding aside, the lowly pipe nail has saved many a charred fingertip, and for that I'm grateful.

Instead of galvanized nails I make my own with aluminum flashing nails. They are longer and I can get a box for three bucks anytime I'm at the building store. That extra inch does come in handy :roll:

Nails huh...that's a good idea! I have 4 tampers, and it's like u have one on you all day, but then they hide when you need them lol

Although the 'pipe nail' is my every day go to tool, I just picked up this elegant nicely shaped pipe tool (not this exact color=they have many different styles_ from smokingpipes.com
Nice domed shape at the bottom, kind of curls the tobacco into the pipe.

Forgot to mention that the top screws off and has a pick inside.
Just a nice stocking stuffer.
