My latest back surgery has been scheduled for the 20th of June. In anticipation of time spent healing, I finally bit the bullet and bought a Stressless "Magic" Recliner to be delivered this weekend, purchased used from the List Du Craig. This chair sells new for over $4300, but paid LOTS less used :) I couldn't be more excited! Even my Michael Parks commission pales in comparison. I am stoked!! For those with seriously shitty backs, a nice chair is life changing. Overly dramatic? Perhaps. I'll be spending a solid few weeks in this chair healing while smoking a pipe.

Hope the chair works for you Nate. As for me, they are apparently going to try nerve burning in my back next month.

Nate, seems like your making the right choices. Everyone's different when it comes to back pain. You and many others are more brave than I am. I refuse to go under the knife. Hips, knees, back, all shot to hell. I just take the pain, and keep on as best I can. Drinking bourbon, wine, tequila, scotch, and beer do help. But, that's my prescription.
Good luck!

I've now had this recliner for a week. It's worth every stinking penny. It has terrific lumbar support and just fits perfectly. I'm an insomniac yet have managed to fall asleep on this chair a couple times which is the highest endorsement I can give it. If you have a bad back and need an amazing chair, I suggest you find one of these!

That's one helluva polar mount in the background Nate. Got any pics to share?

Thanks Jmatt!! Always happy to meet a fellow astronomer!! I'm assuming so based on your knowing what a polar mount is? It's my pride n joy, a Paramount MX+ and my Takahashi FSQ :)
