Has anyone bought any of the curly strang since the change of ownership? And if so, is it the same as the old Strang? I have noticed that they don't seem to have the uncut logs anymore - only something called Curly mixture.

I'm a big dark dark fired Virginia fan, so my vote is for the Curley Mixture Full Flavored. But, I'm flexible and will go with the group This may be the last chance to get some from these guys. And, my German sucks.
New guy is smart. He may or may not be a good/great blender, but he has a PayPal option which simplifies the process, a whole lot. Just ordered 600 grams took a minute or two. I went for the 16/5 "The New"

You don't need to do a group buy. Just order your stuff and pay via PayPal. That will work until PayPal finds out you're ordering tobacco, then they'll pull the service, so don't wait too long.

Why will PayPal pull the plug???
P&C and SP and many other large scale vendors use it and it is how I order all my tobacco blends and pipes for that matter
I don't see how PayPal will do anything but help speed up the transaction as they do with every other vendor.

The advantage of a group buy would be dividing up shipping costs. I am in the middle of closing my store and then a tour of NC immediately afterward. So, if it doesn't fit into my mailbox, I'd be afraid to order anything that doesn't fit into my mailbox after next week. ... But, I'll check with The Briary to see if they'll make an order for our Pipe Club. But, if anyone is placing an order on here, I'd jump on that instead.
PayPal has grandfathered in a few of their accounts, but they have a "no tobacco" policy, which precedes the Motzek account.
If you're ordering, why not try out both curly blends and find out which you prefer? Personally, I'm good with what I got with the last two group buys. For now I'm just letting the Strang rope age. Nice sparkly crystals forming on the 2015. Should be superb in another couple of years.
PayPal has a no cig policy. But they do not have a no pipe tobacco policy. You need to get approval. I doubt the euro PayPal enforcers will ding Motzek and it makes sense that approval was or would be granted for Motzek.
