Storing tobacco

hey! I was wondering… when I open a tin, I immediately put the tobacco I am not smoking on a mason jar. What i was wondering is… how long can the tobacco be in the jar? And also can I open the jar whenever I want? I am doubting a lot of things now that I see people opening the mason jar and smoking some tobacco whenever they want and others say that if you open the mason jar the cellaring process is over

If you’re trying to age it, don’t open it. If you’re just trying to store it open it and smoke it whenever you want.

You can keep it in the jar as long as you want. Yes the aging process will stop once you open it and start again once you seal it. I vacuum seal all my mason jars. That doesn't allow the aging process to go as fast as say a jar that isn't vacuum seal but completely sealed.

The only reason I ever put an open tin in a mason jar is after I open it and don't care for it enough to finish the tin. Putting it in a mason jar preserves it to smoke later. If I want to agree a tin, I don't open it until I'm ready to smoke it. I don't give any consideration to sing once I've opened the tin.
