I have similar ones to phils. I think I bought them at a discount store some where, They have rubber seals and a lock down clamp. I have had good results with them thus far. I have never aged anything, don't have the patience. I smoke what I get fairly fast. The best reason to convince the wife I need more.

A tip I picked up over on pipe maker's forum: Either wash and rinse your jars in very hot water or run then through the dishwasher. If you hand wash set them upside down n a clean towel. if you use the dish washer leave them right in there. While that is happening put some new lids to fit your mason jars on the stove with water to cover. Do not boil. You are softening the rubber in the lids. One at a time pack your jars tightly with tobacco up to the rim. Pop in the microwave for about30 seconds just to warm things well. Slap on a lid and a ring. Proceed to the next jar until you have stashed all your tobacco. Soon you will hear the pop sound of jars sealing. Now once completely cooled put your treasures in your favored storage place. You have now just basically "Canned" your tobacco for freshness. I buy in five pound lots and this works very well to insure that the tobacco remains fresh and tasty .
