Storing Options

I just received my 1lb bag of Lane 1Q and am wondering how to store it? The bag it came in is not resealable. The sample I received 4 years ago came in a zip lock style bag and the tobacco stayed fresh until I recently finished it. I'm debating between locking mason jars or putting a small amount in the sample zip lock bag I still have and putting the rest in a large freezer zip lock bag.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

bail-top jars and/or mason jars work well.

Is there any preconditioning I need to do, to the jars? Or am I able to just fill them?

I run them through the dishwasher to make sure they are clean. Never had an issue with mold or anything.
