Storing Long Flakes

How do you jar the flakes that come as long flakes such as Sutliff Va slices? I'm using pint Ball jars.

Cut them. Will fit uncut in quart jars.

Yep. I cut them in half

I just ordered a bunch of the Rattray's Marlin Flake and I just rolled it onto itself and stuffed it in the jar that way...cutting would have done just as well but I didn't see the need to cut as it rolled up just fine.

I did that once. The unrolling is the problem.

I did that once. The unrolling is the problem.

I'm not to concerned with unrolling...if I'm unrolling it I want it to flake off anyway as I'm about to stuff it and light it. I can't say it was neatly rolled. I crammed that stuff in the jar. It doesn't need to look pretty it just needs to sit the jar and get some age on it.
